Hargraves Energy Project

Hargraves Energy Project (Project) is located approximately 39 km southwest of Mudgee, on the Country of the Wiradjuri People. It is situated in the Mid-Western Regional Council Local Government Area (LGA)

Project Overview

  • Location: 39km south-west of Mudgee, NSW

  • Capacity:

    • ~500MW Wind (initial phase)

    • 350 MW Solar

    • 200 MW / 800 MWh Battery Storage

  • Elevation: 825–916m

  • Wind Resource: 7.17 m/s (based on 2 years of on-site sodar data)

  • Grid Connection: considering several options including 330kV and 500kV transmission lines.

Climate Action & Energy Transition

The Project is designed to:

  1. Decarbonize the Grid
    The Project will significantly reduce reliance on fossil fuels. This clean energy will help NSW meet its Energy Security Target under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020.

  2. Enhance Productivity in Agriculture

    Our Project design is focused on maximising opportunities to enhance agriculture within the Project area using industry best practise and initiatives such as agrivoltaics.

Economic Development & Local Benefits

The Project is more than a power project—it’s a regional development initiative. It will:

  • Create local jobs during construction and operation;

  • Support local suppliers and contractors; and

  • Enable long-term investment in community infrastructure.

Project Status

  • Development Stage: Pre-feasibility.

  • Construction Start: Targeted for early 2029.

  • Milestones: pre-feasibility and scoping reports completed.
