Community
We focus on ecosystem creation – not just isolated projects. We are committed to maximising local content, and creating lasting opportunities for local businesses.
We believe the opportunities presented by the transition to a cleaner energy future are far-reaching and will be long-lasting. We are passionate about the community being involved in the design of the Project from its early stages and will work hard to foster understanding and inclusiveness, and a project that delivers economic and social prosperity locally and regionally.
We seek to meaningfully contribute to vibrant, sustainable, resilient communities by engaging in impactful, long-term initiatives and partnerships. We support economic growth by fostering local supply chains and offering training and employment opportunities.
Community Benefits
The Project is a signatory to the Clean Energy Council’s (CEC) Best Practice Charter and this commitment reflects our dedication to upholding the highest standards of sustainability, ethics, and stakeholder engagement in its pursuit of a cleaner, more sustainable energy future. The following community benefit initiatives are examples of how we can deliver prosperity to the communities that host our projects:
Local Economic Development
The Project is expected to deliver significant economic uplift to the region. This includes job creation during both construction and operational phases, Increased demand for rural services such as fencing, earthworks, and equipment maintenance and support for local businesses through procurement and service contracts.
Environmental and Agricultural Co-Benefits
The Project is designed to coexist with existing land uses. The layout allows for the continuation of agricultural practices, enhancing land resilience and sustainability. The site selection leverages already cleared land, reducing environmental disruption.
First Nations Partnerships
The Project is located on the Country of the Wiradjuri People, and we commitment to Respect and recognise the continuing connection of First Nations people to land and culture, and engage in consultation and collaboration with First Nations communities as part of the stakeholder engagement strategy.
Energy Security and Climate Action
The Project helps decarbonise the grid, supports NSW’s Energy Security Target, enhances grid stability and enables more reliable use of renewable energy.
Long-Term Community Engagement
We have embedded a strong commitment to community engagement throughout the Project lifecycle; a community engagement plan is in place, with FAQs and outreach materials tailored for local stakeholders. The Project team is actively working with landholders and community members to ensure inclusive participation and transparent communication.
