Hargraves Wind Farm

Hargraves Wind Farm is located approximately 30 km southwest of Mudgee, on the Country of the Wiradjuri People. It is situated in the Mid-Western Regional Council Local Government Area (LGA).

The Project Site was selected due to its suitability for a wind farm based on the available wind resources within the Project Site and the initial environmental and social constraints identified through preliminary investigations.

The Hargraves Wind Farm will involve constructing, operating, and decommissioning up to 44 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) and associated ancillary infrastructure, with a total capacity of around 300 MW. The project site is primarily used for agriculture, including farming and grazing operations

The Project will assist in delivering cheaper, cleaner, and more reliable electricity, supporting New South Wales (NSW) in meeting the Energy Security Target established by the NSW Electricity Strategy (2019). The Project will have the potential to assist in delivering network benefits and renewable energy services to the recently declared Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), which aims to create targeted areas of combined renewable energy generators and is prioritised by the NSW Electricity infrastructure Roadmap (November 2020).

The proposed Project capacity for Phase 1 is 300 - 600MW with the opportunity for substantial expansion. The Project would likely export the electricity produced via connection into the 330kV transmission line extending from Wellington to Mt Piper or the 500kV transmission line extending from Wollar to Mt Piper into a PPA into the NEM.
